Miss World Guinea-Bissau 2013, Heny Lídia Tavares, is the first beauty queen from her country to compete in a "big" international pageant.
In 2012 Benazira Djoco was released as the first Miss Guinea-Bissau, but for undisclosed reasons she did not compete internationally.
